Makara Sankranthi Celebration

Date:Jan 15, 2021

Makara Sankranthi is one of the important festivals of Hindu religion which is celebrated with great joy and fervour across India. It is dedicated to the deity Surya (Sun God) and is observed in the month of Janaury every year. The word Makar Sankrathi derives from two owrds- Makar and Sankranthi. Makar means Capricorn and Sankranthi means transition of the Sun in the Capricorn. This festival mostly falls on the same Gregorian date every year (January 14/15), except for rare occasions when the date shifts.

MVJIS family did not let the pandemic lessen the spirit of festivity among them and kept the positive vibes very high. The entire staff was engrossed in the celebration marking the festival of harvest and bring in new hope and joy for the upcoming days of the year. They were all dressed up in their best ethnic wear and actively participated in the designing rangoli, pongal cooking and singing pongal songs. The campus was indeed filled with lot of festive colours and the active participation of the staff added to the platter of colours.

WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY MAKAR SANKRANTHI, PONGAL, BIHU & LOHRI !!!!
