Guided Practice
Building understanding through structured learning experiences.
MVJISMVJIS
The Middle School programme at MVJ International School (MVJIS) is designed for students in Grades 6 to 8, typically between 11 and 14 years of age. At this stage, learners transition towards more abstract concepts and deeper subject understanding while developing the skills, confidence and independence needed for the next phase of their academic journey.
The learning process involves:
Building understanding through structured learning experiences.
Encouraging students to question, investigate and discover.
Helping learners think about their experiences and understand what they have learned.
Providing opportunities to apply knowledge, demonstrate skills and assess understanding.
This approach integrates the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains of learning, supporting deeper conceptual understanding, improved retention and the development of practical skills.
Language education plays an important role in developing effective communication, confidence and cultural awareness. Students at MVJIS engage in the study of English, Kannada and Hindi, with learning experiences designed to strengthen reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Assessment at the Middle School level focuses on understanding, application and the development of essential academic and life skills. NCERT-aligned learning resources and prescribed books are followed to support a strong academic foundation and systematic learning progression.
Middle School is an important stage for developing the skills students need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. At MVJIS, learning experiences and activities are designed to nurture key 21st-century skills, including:
Students are encouraged to analyse information, communicate ideas confidently, work effectively with others and approach challenges with creativity and innovation.
At MVJIS, education extends beyond academics. Enrichment activities and celebrations of national, cultural and state-level significance provide students with opportunities to participate, express themselves and learn through meaningful experiences.
Students actively take part in a variety of activities, performances and responsibilities associated with school celebrations. These experiences help develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, creativity, communication and a sense of cultural awareness.
With the guidance and encouragement of our teachers, students participate with enthusiasm and take on different roles that allow them to discover their strengths and contribute to the school community.
