Observance of Road Safety Month

Date:Feb 17, 2021

Members Involved: Teaching Staff & Studnets

Almost over one lakh persons lose their lives every year in our country in road accidents (as per Transport Research Wing of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi), causing loss of human lives and property and trauma to the family of the deceased. This underlines the urgency for adopting various road safety measures. As a part of the advocacy campaign for road safety, ‘ROAD SAFETY WEEK’ is observed throughout the country every year in the month of January in order to highlight and emphasize the need for safe roads. However, this year, instead of Road Safety Week, ROAD SAFETY MONTH will be observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021 on the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha, according to Circular No. Acad-06/2021.

It was an excellent opportunity for all the students to contribute to the cause by taking up activities to promote the concept and be a part of the advocacy campaign for road safety. MVJIS had undertaken suitable online activities to observe the occasion, as was suggested by CBSE. The students of grade 9 & 10 actively participated in the activity assigned by the school- “MAKING OF COMIC STRIP ON ROAD SAFETY”. They enjoyed doing the same and also taken a step forward to create an awareness among people through their work. Needless to say, that it brought their creative side out and also proved that they can convey an important message in a humorous way too.

ALERT TODAY - ALIVE TOMORROW. DRIVE SAFE!!!
