Science Awareness Day

Date:Feb 28, 2021

Science Awareness Day was celebrated virtually on 28th February, 2021 at MVJIS campus. This pandemic was a testing time for each one of us, but it could not deter the spirit and enthusiasm of MVJIS to execute this event. Science Day was celebrated with the same zeal and fervour and MVJIS family had given their utmost effort in accomplishing the same. It showed the relentless efforts of the students. The whole event provided a platform for all the students to bring out their innate qualities and showcase their talents.

The science Awareness Day was a budding child from the mind of respected principal Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar, who had steered through the entire journey with her enthusiastic team. Keeping NEP in mind, respected principal have aimed and focussed on various aspects like multi linguism, art integration and also multiple intelligence being portrayed through various activities in the event. Hence, not only science experiments, but integrated learning was also showcased through the activities. It had also well served the CBSE initiative- EK BHARAT SHRESTH BHARATH. Not to forget, that even SEWA was integrated in the Science Awareness Day event and out PE instructor MR. Gajendra M had briefed the audience about the same.

The whole process started from the month of December 2020, when respected principal had thought of this event. Since then, her continuous encouragement and follow up had given this event a shape. First of all, a team was formed – the Science team that had Miss Lata Sharma, Ms. Monica Jessy and Mr. Hemanth Kumar, who had taken up the initiative further. The whole team worked up tirelessly for making the day an utmost success. They had spent odd hours allotting the topics to the students, receiving them, sorting them out and selecting the best ones. This happened of course with the approval and joint effort of principal and coordinators. The Montessori team had taken a beautiful initiative too to add on to the flavours of the event, that came in the form of activities not only from the students but also from the teachers who displayed a keen interest on projecting an organic way of doing TIE and DYE. The primary wing also played an active role to be a part of the virtual session in conducting experiments- ORGANIC COMPOST MAKING by Ms. Jayashree. A meeting was held every fortnight to do the core planning of execution with respected principal Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar and academic coordinator Ms. Komala K. After a briefing out session, all the teachers irrespective of their subjects were given a role to execute in the successful completion of the event.

This programme would not have been much better than this under the able guidance of respected principal Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar. Though the event was virtual, but it had all the essential elements in it- starting from the proper MC to invocation song, from lighting of lamp to inauguration dance, from addressing the gathering to inviting our esteemed guest Dr. Durgaprasad Reddy, Chairman – MEC- Vydehi Groups of Institutions. The event also had fun element to keep the audience engaged and engrossed in it- online quizzes and games. Adding to the values and learning, the show stopper of the event - a role play by the students of grade VI, VII and IX was beautifully performed. The characters in this role play were real, but the theme of the same was imaginary and they travelled from different eras.

Success is no accident, it is hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice and most of all love of what you are doing or learning to do. This had been proven by the whole team of MVJIS time and again. A major contribution was from the admin team of MVJIS for the successful execution of the show who did a vigorous follow up with the MS Teams coordinate- Mr. Shanth. The programme was given a wonderful ending by the vote of thanks by Ms. Nalini.

Mr. Henry Ford said it right, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success tales care of itself.” MVJIS truly believes in it in every sense and have proved it time and again.
