Toddlers: Our PlayGroup Explorers - Early Starters

Two-year-olds enjoy using their senses and motor skills to explore the world and are highly curious about unfamiliar objects, events and phenomena.

New discoveries are also facilitated by a two-year-old's blossoming language skills that prompt many "why," "what" and "how" questions. Physically, two-year-olds explore all the ways to travel from here to there, including rolling, crawling, creeping, walking, running, jumping and climbing. Two-year-olds enjoy playing alongside other children by socialising and learning behaviour pattern.

MONTESSORI  I  -  EMERGENT INVESTIGATORS

Three-year-olds learn primarily through exploring using all the senses. Language for three-year-olds is taking off. They are also able to listen to and understand conversations, stories, songs and poems. Children of this age develop their logical reasoning skills as they play. As they become more independent, they begin to have real friendships with other children and typically seek adult assistance.

Our Montessori-I curriculum ensures the strongest foundation for future learning within a safe environment where every child can feel valued, confident and independent. We provide an academically rich, developmentally appropriate environment to stimulate and enhance growth. Children have the freedom to choose from various Montessori manipulatives areas like Math centers, dramatic play, block areas, art activities and Gross & Fine motor activities. Our rich classroom environment focuses on literacy skills and well known children's books make the perfect Springboard for exciting activities. Long term projects are steadily integrated into the curriculum. The outdoors gradually becomes an extension of the indoors in learning.

MONTESSORI  II  -  INQUIRERS

When it comes to learning, four-year-olds are developing greater self-control and ingenuity. Their pretend play is more complex and imaginative and can be sustained for longer periods.

They begin communicating both in complex and compound sentences, have very few pronunciation errors and expand their vocabularies daily. They use logical reasoning to solve everyday problems and can effectively use language to compare and describe objects and shapes.

They can participate in the planning and observe, gather information, compare data, identify patterns, describe and discuss observations. Emotionally, four-year-olds continue to learn what causes certain feelings and realize that others may react to the same situation differently.

The comprehensive curriculum promotes teaching children the skills needed for success in school and helps them develop a lifetime love of learning.

MONTESSORI  III  -  THE RESEARCHERS

Five-year-olds are creative and enthusiastic problem solvers. They offer progressively more imaginative ideas like how to do a task, make something or solve longer-term or more abstract challenges. Five-year-olds begin to extend their oral language skills to reading and writing. They also can discuss stories and are able to tell their own tales. The mathematical thinking of children of this age becomes more abstract especially with Montessori manipulative with more reasoning. Physically, five-year-olds are abound with energy and seek active games and environments.

Hands-on experiences help them to form theories to explain "how" and "why" things happen. Children of this age can manage feelings and social situations with greater independence. They also have improved skills for forming and maintaining friendships with older children.

Our curriculum reinforces and extends these skills, knowledge and concepts through a rich curriculum plan with defined learning objectives.

We use the highest quality curriculum material and educational technologies in all group and child led activities. The curriculum is structured, yet flexible.
