Diwali celebrates the inner light that protects us from spiritual darkness. In Guyana, India and around the world, Diwali is celebrated by lighting clay lamps or diyas to signify light over darkness or good over evil.

The day of festivity began with lighting of the lamp by respected Principal Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar, along with Academic Coordinator Mrs. Komala K, Mont. In charge Mrs. Nalini. All the teachers as well as the students were dressed up in their best of ethnic. All the students from Grade 1-8 and teachers were brought together in the campus to celebrate the occasion. The day started at MVJIS, where respected Principal Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar addressed all the students to convey her greetings. The students lightened up the day with their soulful songs, lively dances, meaningful mimes and informative speeches. It was a fun-filled day with all smiles and cheers around.
